tryst with a few good men..

Its 02:00 am at night and I had to tell someone that it is a sleepless one for me. While my thumbs type this sentence on a Blackberry OS 7.1 device, rest of my being continues to radiate heat at 101 deg Fahrenheit like a bio-thermo-electric device. My stomach feels like a pharmacy & microbiology lab, with digestive system gone for a holiday, or a war zone with infection waging a battle against antibodies with chemical weapon support. My lower back reminds me of the red hot steel on the anvil of an Iron smith constantly being thrashed by a Sledge Hammer. Every human conversation around me seems like mosquitoes buzzing out of nowhere.
Mom's recovering from a fracture & dad's fighting a stress generated disorder. My Brother remains the man in control now, grossly overloaded & least compensated member of the family currently gaining his expertise in Disaster & Crises Management, subjects that he never learned at a Biz school. Academically an average student, he just managed to pass his way through. With a servant no longer around at home, the only medically fit member does get to handle everybody else's roles & responsibilities like never before. From feeding our mother's pet dogs to visiting the farmlands at the village, he is also doubling up as a hospital attendant for the 3 not so well members of the family. A close friend of his is booked for threatening the life of a senior politician, to whom, he pays regular visits at the district jail. He's apparently helped a lot of inmates with food and warm clothing with special requests to the jail administration. Quite a few visit home, he offers them a place to stay with dinner on the house. With temperature dropping as low as 0.2 deg Celsius, he continues to fetch vegetables & groceries from all over on his motorbike, besides meeting a swelling number of visitors as election time approaches. Never have I seen this guy rise up to the occasion with so much ease, as I would find myself pretty much lost under such circumstances, if I were in his place. No wonder, challenges bring out the best in a man, but this time, something has been exceptional. Our ideological differences far outweigh the concepts in life that we are in agreement with each other. This time however, he earns my respect for reminding me that its not academically brilliant, professionally competent or financially affluent that make the greatest impact in our lives. Its just those simple guys around us who are there when nobody else is. This is a time of trial, when my oldest of friends and closest of relatives have disappeared into oblivion, for when a ship sinks, the rats are the first to leave. But somehow, this sinking ship has turned itself into a nuclear submarine overnight, something which works only when its sunk! It is one of those scenarios where an ordinary soul goes to an extraordinary extent in exhibiting character in the face of adversity. There are Generals,Statesmen,CEOs,Sportsman,Artists and Celebrities who have adorned their walls with accolades & trophies of their achievements. And then there are men who won't ever talk, leave alone bragg about it. They are no Gold medalists, star performers or heads of state. They are simple souls in flesh & blood who don't sell or market themselves, because they are not for sale. They are priceless. A man physically and psychologically battered such as me, is surprised at this human quality to see a common person, whose capability is largely underrated, become something of a personal hero. Often, we ignore the fact that we are surrounded by such heroes who will never show themselves and never take credit for the quiet deeds they do. They simply do what they are born to do silently and leave a mark behind, for those whose lives they've touch. Blessed to have been born in the company of those few good men..!

Honour for eternity.. in life and in death..

In the folkore of my village and tradition, Ram occupies a special place for the ultimate Man of Substance.Irrespective of the fact that there were many sins that he had committed, ranging from killing Bali, to banishing Sita out of Ayodhya, nevertheless, He was a great General and a Man of His word. But this story isnt about Him really. Its about the man who made Him the God that He is remembered as today. In order to rescue Sita from the captivity of Ravan, Ram had a challenge big enough, to put a God incarnated man to a state of stress. Ravan was a hybrid of the best of a Brahmin intellect and a demon's aggression and might. Not only that, he had the greatest army on the planet with a fortress so impenetrable that Ram was paranoid about mounting a full scale invasion. For defeating the mightiest kingdom on heaven and earth, the forest dwelling prince of Ayodhya needed the forces of nature to back him up. And in order to summon them, He needed the most capable Shaivite priest in the entire Universe.Ironically, the very adversary that Ram sought to defeat, was the only Brahmin who could conduct the ritual to the levels of Vedic precision. For Ravan had mastered the 5 elements and the multitude of powers associated with them. And then, Ram, the greatest of the Rajput bloodline, the best Vishwamitra had ever trained, and the SUpreme Commander of the Army of Apes does what no man in the history of mankind has ever done, and perhaps will never do.He invites Ravan to do the ritual for Him. Ravan, to Ram's surprise agrees. Ram, who had lost his wife to Ravan, his kingdom to keep the promise his father asked of him, and was about to go to war with the most fierce war machine amongst Gods, men and Demons, had nothing to offer Ravan. But Ravan did the unthinkable. What he asked of Ram was this."When the war is reaching its end, O the greatest of Warrior !, I & you shall remain the the final Contendors in the battleground.Take a vow and give me that honored Raghuvanshi word that your Forefathers have kept with their lives. The Final arrow that annhilates me, shall come from none other, but from your bow. For I want God Himselves to kill me. It would be a death befitting an empreror of Demons. Your will lighten the path of the shadow that I left behind. For thousands of years, I will be honored, for in my death, your name shall have eternal life."Ram agreed and kept the promise he made to the Demon empreror in the battlefield of Lanka. Today, Ram lives on, and Ravan never died. For in his death, Ram gave Ravan the Honour the no man, demon or beast would have. For in death, lives the promise of eternal life.

Prince Siddharth, the Gautam Buddha of Lumbini: The True-blooded Rajput and The Victory in the Path of a Warrior

Of all the Rajput warriors, be it Amar Singh Rathor, or Maharana Pratap or Prithviraj Chauhan for that matter, there are two that have been known distinctly for their God like status.
King Ram of Ayodhya was a Warrior, A General and A king. His ethos of combat taught him to take the enemy head on. His ability to effectively use miniscule resources made him a Leader and an Administrator to reckon with.
But he failed on two fronts.
First, when he killed Bali, the Brother of Sugriv, it was not justified. He later paid in penance in the next birth as Krishn who died of the arrow of the Bheel who was reincarnated as Bali. This was something of a deal which I question.
Second, the choice between one's spouse and democratic will for an administrator may have been a difficult one, but here is where the catch lies. King Ram obeyed the will of the Washerman without effectively arguing for the purity and innocence of Sita, his rightful wife who stood by him in the most troubled of times. No wonder, his sons, of who I m a descendant of, chose to part ways. Although Ram may have been a मर्यादा पुरुषोत्तम, the Finest in character amongst men, He failed to protect the very person who had the greatest faith in Him.

Krishna Vasudev, a Jadaun of the Chandravanshi Lineage had been a master strategist, a diplomat and an excellent Statesman. He chose to go into the battlefield, not as a Warrior but as chariot steerer of the Archer Arjun. He also bore the wrath of Gandhari, the mother of the Kauravs owing to which, not only did He bled to death of the arrow wound inflicted by the Bheel, or the Bali of Tretayug, but the whole Dwarka sank like the Atlantis and His Dynasty came to an end with the death of His son Pradyumna.

However, owing to the Brahmin monopoly on the Hindu Philosophy, one Rajput Prince did something that no other had even dreamt of.
Prince Siddhartha of the Shakya Clan, better known as Gautam Buddha raised the bar to a new level. He realised the futility of weapons and felt that the collateral damage caused in terms of socio-psychological perspectives was way too much for a Kingdom to take. He left in search of finding the answers and took the path of meditation and connected to the subconscious mind. Thus, he took mastery over the greatest weapon that mankind had ever seen. It was the Human mind.
Controlling the Human mind through the practise of Yoga and Dhyan was something his predecssors had never thought before. His ability to focus and use the power of thought and intention on physical objects made him so much more powerful, than a weapon and armour wielding warrior that even before the battle could start, he had won it in the mind. He did not have to behead or kill, He just had to look at the adversary in the eye and Smile. :)
The story begins from the time when Ram was a student of Vishwamitra, who himselves had renounced Royalty for the life of an ascetic. Ram asked His teacher what is it that Vishwamitr found in renounciation that the Royalty could not offer. Vishwarath, the name of the Prince before he became an Ascetic called Vishwamitr, replied, the greatest strength is not in the Weapons and Armies, for that had failed him, but the power of the tranquil mind of the man who is free. Ram hence took his lessons in Tretayug and as Vishnu gave it a thought of trying out that role for Himself. He, henceforth incarnated Himself as Prince Siddhartha of Lumbini, and then the ShakyaMuni, or the Ascetic of the Shakya Clan, the way Vishwamitra was the Hermit of the Clan of Raghu.
In the Path that Vishwamitra chose, he challenged the Brahmins and the Gods of forces of nature and became the Brahmrishi, the Grand Sage, once a monopoly of the Brahmins like Vashistha.
That is where Buddha realised that collateral damage at war brought more misery than good fortune. He realised that preserving life, whether that of Self or the enemy was important for greater growth and prosperity. Thus He armed His warrior spirit with the greatest power of them all, Knowledge.
This Knowledge, once a domain of the Brahmins, had been acquired by a Rajput, the second to have done so after Vishwamitra. This had been to the Brahmin's displeasure that all the Rajput Princes who agreed with Siddharth's view were banished from their Kingdoms and fled to far off lands, carrying the ashes of their ancestors and their swords. Some of them reunited with the cousins of Kauravs in Gandhar, and some took the various skills of combat. science, Mathematics and Philosophy. In this fashion, Siddharth without shedding a single drop of blood, did what is expected of a Rajput. He brought peace and prosperity and saved a large chunk of Humanity from incessant killings, which the Brahmins had engaged the Rajputs in from time immemorial.
This is what being a True Rajput General was all about.
Without shedding a drop of blood, He conquered the largest land mass ever. And He did it, like no other could ever do. Neither Jesus, nor Mohammad and not his previous incarnations of Ram and Krishn. His message was read, heard and transmitted to lengths beyond oceans. His thought gave rise to the Neo-Rajputs in Japan, who we know as Samurais of today.
The Brahmins sought vengeance and declared that anyone who followed the Path of Siddharth was a Blasphemist. Despite knowing that He was the Vishnu Avatar Himself, they challenged Him, only to have realised that this made Him even greater and stronger. It is in His footsteps that Ashok made peace with himself and found the Ultimate Source of Infinite Power.
Reading His works, is when Sun-Tzu made the statement in the celebrated compilation, The Art of War.
"The Greatest General is not the one who wins Hundred victories in a Hundred battles. Winning Battles without Fighting is the Quality, the Greatest General Has."
This Greatest General was not just a warrior of Knowledge and a monk of Peace. He was a Rajput Prince .

Shiva the Destroyer His Song and finding true Love.....

Many years ago when I went to my grand mother's village in Haryana, I hit upon a Ragini I couldnt connect to back then. A Ragini is a folk song sung in the villages of Haryana and western UP.A sort of an open air opera sung in a high note depicting a legend from a mythology or glorious tale of valour and chivalry.

This Ragini quoted a special incident.

It speaks of Dakshputri approaching Lord Shiva for marriage.

By the way, Shiva didnt come easy.

Shailputri had to do a rigourous Tapasya तपस्या to summon lord Shiva. So pure she had become by the sheer exotherm, that she came to be known as Brahmcharini ब्रह्म्चारिणी.

When Shiva was pleased and appeared before her, she proposed Him for marriage instantly. He had a word of advise for her.

Don't marry me, I m not the best man you can find.
She said she was ok with it, in fact, that is what she always wanted.
And then Shiva tried to convince her a little harder.
He told her, that He's a Yogi and follows a path of suffering, but her love for Him was way too strong.
Later she killed herselves and was reborn again.

This Time..Shiva conducted a Tapasya to have her back as his wife...

:)

Thats what I guess makes this song so special.

Here's the Haryanvi / Hindi / English transliteration of what he spoke..

"You are the beloved daughter of a king..
I but a man with just a rag of cloth..
I scrub and drink Grass..
I carry nothin but a club and a bucket.."

"you the king's princess,
I have no slaves no keeps..
you wear shawls and luxury,
I have not even a blanket..
you a bird of orchards,
here there is no green grass only Ice...
how will you ever live here,
there is no bright light of 1700 lamps here..
find a rich man to get married to,
I m just a man with a club..."

"You are the beloved daughter..."

"I burn with the radiance of meditation,
seeing the fire you''ll terrify yourself ..
I drink venom,
u'll see my habits and terrify yourself..
A hundred serpents live with me,
seeing the cobra you'll terrify yourself..
When I dance the Armageddon in the jungles,
seeing the sheer ferocity, you'll terrify yourself..
You need a boy with neat hair,
I but a man with a long hair tail...

"You are the beloved daughter..."
-

Tu Raja Ki Raj Dulari, Main Sirf Langote, Aala Su
Baandh Ragad Ke Piya Karu Main, ( Kundi Sote Aala Su ) - 2

Tu Raja Ki Chhori Se, Mere Ek Bhi Daasi Dost Nahi
Chal Tu Sole Odhan Aali, Maare Kambal Tak Bhi Paas Nahi
Tu Batakh Ki Koyal Se Odhe, Par Tode Hari Ghaas Nahi
Kitri Yaad Re Laga Tera, Satran Chaul Prakash Nahi
Kise Saahukar Ke Pyaa Kar Vaale, Saahukaar Ke Pyaa Kar Vaale
Main Khaali Strot Ke Aala Su
Baandh Ragad Ke Piya Karu Main, Kundi Sote Aala Su
(Tu ...)

Pag Dhoole Main To Kai Karu Tu, Aur Dekhe Dar Jaagi
Raat Ko Leke Piyaa Karu Mera, Baagh Dekh Ke Dar Jaagi
Sau Sau Saap Bane Re Din Mein, Naag Dekh Ke Dar Jaagi
Tandav nach kare ban me,rang rag Dekh Ke Dar Jaagi
Tane Julfo Vaala Chhora Chaiye, Julfo Vaala Chhora Chaiye
Main Lambe Chote Vaala Su
Baandh Ragad Ke Piya Karu Main, Kundi Sote Aala Su

(Tu ...)

Little did I know that an 11 year old boy called Rajbir would make it heard all over.
This is the techno-version of that Ragini featured in a movie soundrack.

Thanks for the Song Lord Shiva...

You made me realise that a guy neednt wear an Armani suit to get the best Gal in the Universe...

I've just blown the whistle...

Friends have been complaining for quite sometime now..
Time I had my say. Every one's been asking me why on earth have I not found someone to get hooked on to. I didn't know myself...
until now..
I m left with no choice but to blow the whistle out.
A guy like me is not the types who goes around chasing girls all over the town. And my orientation by far is straight, for anyone alleging, I have different taste(s) & preference(s).
My upbringing was rather rugged and I was designed to be a 9 or 21 Para Cdo, and never a loverboy. Goin' out with a girl would make me a weakling, which is what I thought then....
not now but..
I do have a few grievances against the forces of nature though.
The greatest irony that has occured is ( no, I won't ask you to hold your breath..!)
the first girl I actually liked is already going out with someone. ..!
Now where do I fit in.? Heavens haven't answered it as yet. Common sense says find someone else. But that actually doesn't make sense to me for real. How on earth (and in heaven maybe..) ,m I supposed to find a replacement for something that is not a machine or a commodity, but a living being that has a soul and a life.? Even if I did find someone so to say, would the replacement have all the traits and key qualitites that I have found after much searching.?
The warrior DNA provokes me to go the Alpha male way and show who the better male is, by the virtue of physical, mental and metaphysical (yup..I do have access..!!) brute force, the way its done in the animal kingdom. Reduce her lover boy to ashes..!!
Or I become the evil plotter and conceive a plan of deceit to finish the relationship and build my own on the grave of the first one.
So all in all, I have multiple options to chose from, but I won't.
No.. I m not preaching moral science in here. Nor do I expect God & Co. to pass over Ms "I have a crush on" to me by the Miracle clause.
The truth is..
I want the lady to be happy wherever she is, with whoever she is with. And the 'whoever' doesn't have to be me. However, I'd like to stand by her whenever she needs me in whichever way that might turn out to be. And its not for some philanthropic exercise, but my own satisfaction that I'd like to do this. And having experienced a past life, I don't mind waiting if God's bringing us together in the next one, with a marriage planned in heaven.
Also, I'd not like this to be a 'one sided-open ended' love story of some kind.
I'd like to let her know who the real me is.
I'd like to let her know 's someone out there who is willing to live, die and gladly, happily, and remorselessly willing to kill, behead, slaughter and sacrifice for her to all lengths in time and space.
For in dying that we are born to eternal life...
And in giving that we receive..
Not a bad deal at all God...
Maybe I don't mind thanking 'Him' for makin' someone worthwhile...
Atleast I have something to dream of...
And have faith...
for the next life, I m all set..!!
( Never has a man waited for death with so much passion and obsession...not that I know of..!!!)

Care when no one cares...has a meaning.

There are people you may be genuinely concerned from the bottom of your hearts. But they may never take you seriously for all the reasons that the world has to offer. That, notwithstanding the fact that each human has free will and thus the freedom to do what he or she chooses to do.
However, that may not necessarily be the best thing for them to do about themselves. Just like when kids don't listen to their parents, they may be reprimanded for the same. This may not be the best modus operandi of convincing someone, instead, its a coercion by the fear of force. Independence of decision making is vital to all human beings, but at times, its not a bad idea to trust someone's suggested course of action than one's own. Be it, the domain expertise or just the faith in someone, certain things can actually stop us from failing ourselves from our own decisions.

There are innumerable examples from History where great conquerors of the order of Alexander, Adolf Hitler and Bonaparte himself took a course of action borne out of what they felt was correct, which in the end went terribly wrong. Their ignorance of the suggestions of their comrades and top advisors meant nothing more than mere discouraging discourses.

So what exactly can one do if one sees someone who one loves and cares for in that same situation.

Its simple. Tell them what you feel and why you feel what you feel. But this is the next step after a degree of self analysis of the conceived course of action prior to suggestion. This is strongly recommended step since the degree of emotional bias as well as impulsive action and decision can sink ships and lose battles besides nations. At a micro level, relationships.

And if the person doesnt take you seriously, then..?

Simpler. Let them take their desired course of action. You did your bit and gave your opinion. Your job ends then and there. Even if you know that the person you love and care for is about to jeopardize everything he or she has, you simply cannot command another human being to do something that he or she is not obliged to do.
Once you have conveyed what you felt is the truth, then you have done your job well and carried out the responsibility that the 'System' gave you. For even if that person meets his or her end in not taking your thoughts seriously, you did what you could at its best by forewarning. Your job is done when you communicate something the other person may not adhere to. All the harm that comes to this person is not a function of a crisis management group from heaven, but solely the person who did what he shouldnt have.

We all are signalled for something good and evil. We then make a choice based on our intuitive ability, provided we have developed it over a period of time. In the suffering of the other person, there is always an attempt to rescue in which only 1 of 100 escape. Rest are consumed in the fire of Karma and destiny.

And then there is hope. Trusting and having faith in the 'System' makes a lot of sense minus the service charges actually. The learning that follows massive failure has its origins in small successes that become big ones in no time.

So if you love someone from the bottom of your heart and the person doesnt pay a heed, just sit back and relax. Their time for the hard learning of lessons from life has just begun.

Just make sure, you are there when there is no emergency support.

Best friends come handy when both our hands are gone...
